Right Focus' purpose is to provide information, advice and expert help to design, develop, cost, negotiate, implement and mediate support plans (brokerage) and assist people in being independent by enabling them to employ their own carer or personal assistant.
What are Direct Payments?
Direct Payments are money given to individuals by social services to enable them to buy services which meet their needs.
To get a Direct Payment, you must first be assessed by Social Services who will decide what money you will be awarded based on their findings.

The individual gets a clear, up-front idea about how much money they will get allowing them to use the money in a way which is best for them.

created to address this.
The Government would like all local authorities to change to
Self-Directed Support.
This means that an individual can undertake a self-assessment and create
a support plan which identifies their needs. Once the plan is agreed, funding
is put in place to allow the plan to happen.
